The internet and it’s influence have come a long way. What once was only the engine behind instant messaging on AOL—better known as AIM—and browsers (that were quite slow at the time) has blossomed into the backbone of mobile applications, iMessaging (which just might be AOL instant messaging reincarnated) and more. It has allowed infinite media creation for users and helped people find new ways to connect with others. But one thing that has not changed since the internet’s creation is it’s ability to ignite love.
To be fair, all sorts of connections spur online, friendships and professional contacts included, but the former examples lack one thing that romantic relationships have on lock: love songs.
Formerly known as “Herr”, Nick Carter Green has finally released a visual for Black Roses, a song from his album Nineteen. If you follow me on social media, you know I’ve been raving about his music for about a year now when he released his project under the “Herr” alias.
Revealing himself was a BIG move, as a face finally got put on the lyrics and vivid emotions in his songs. If you enjoy this video, listen to the full album below.
I’d first like to give you all an update. I am the WORST for my lack of blogging lately. I’ve been sulking in my last bits of summer and I’ve let posting slip under the rug. So let me say, I AM SORRY! I’ll have some juicy posts for you soon 🙂
I started listening to Kehlani’s music in January after one of my favorite writers, Alexandra Elle, liked Kehlani’s mixtape cover on Instagram. I listened to her mixtape Cloud 19 and was taken away. Female R&B singers are at a surprising low right now. Yes there’s Jhene Aiko, Justine Skye, and Ariana Grande but a few years ago there were girl groups and solo singers galore. Now it seems like we’re stuck with Chris Brown confusing rhythm and blues with rap music as he cries over the women he treated wrong while calling them btches on every verse… But anyway, Kehlani’s music felt relatable, honest, and graceful. She’s candid with her experiences in every way and I love it I love it I love it.
When the cameras first rolled on Rihanna, everyone (on twitter at least) was wondering what in the world Rihanna was doing with that huge roll of duck tape, but later we found that it was all apart of her scheme to get her money. Gotta do what you gotta do. You go girl.
Today the inaugural Teens in the Park festival, hosted by the Chicago Park District, took place at Northerly Island. Chance the Rapper curated the festival with music, break dancing, food, etc. Though the graffiti art, jewelry making, and fashion design workshops that were listed as a part of the festival didn’t live up to the hype, Chance had a bigger surprise in store for the young audience.
Aside from being the magical daughter of Lisa Bonet and Lenny Kravitz, I only knew two things about Zoe Kravitz. Being that I love A Different World I was aware that her birth was what caused Lisa Bonet to leave after the first season and as a Sci-Fi nerd I knew she was an actress from her role as Christina in Divergent and that was about it.
